From November 19 to 21, at the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9), VTV held a professional training course titled “Creative and Multi-Platform Content Production in the Context of Television Digital Transformation”. The course had a thematic focus on “From Idea to Smart Distribution - Data-Driven Content Creation”. The program forms part of VTV’s 2025 professional development plan for reporters, editors, camera operators, content creators, and digital content managers based in the south of the country, including those from VTV Times, VTV’s Ho Chi Minh City Center, VTV Southwest Center, and the Center for Digital Content Production and Development.
The instructor presents digital-transformation models adopted by television broadcasters around the world.
The training was delivered by Mr. Phan Van Hung, Chief Technology Officer of Dreamax Technology JSC. Designed to be 30% theory and 70% hands-on practice, the course enables learners to grasp core frameworks while directly applying multi-platform production techniques.
On the first day, participants explored global and Vietnamese trends in digital transformation across major broadcasters, from automation and data application to vertical video formats. The 3I framework (Issue - Insight - Idea) guided learners in identifying problems, understanding audience needs, and shaping data-driven ideas. Working in teams, participants analyzed trends using Google Trends, TikTok, and YouTube, and developed five content concepts based on real-time data.
The curriculum closely reflects VTV’s actual production workflows, allowing learners to apply their learning immediately in their daily work.
The second day focused entirely on practical production, during which participants filmed on their phones, edited videos on CapCut, used AI to generate subtitles and refine effects, and then received detailed feedback on the quality of their work. Livestreaming skills were also covered, with participants following a standard workflow that included script preparation, technical setup, and conducting a simulated 10-minute live broadcast session.
The class attracts strong interest from participating learners.
On the final day, participants explored the ecosystem of generative AI tools and the data analytics features of YouTube and TikTok to develop data-driven content distribution plans. Through a three-station practice workflow that utilizes AI for ideation, audience analysis, and metadata creation, learners gained a comprehensive understanding of the modern content production process. By the end of the course, each team completed a small multi-platform campaign along with a report analyzing its real-world performance.
The program consists of 30% theory and 70% hands-on practice.
The training course is designed to help the broadcasting workforce adapt more effectively to the rapidly changing digital media environment, where audience behavior is evolving and competition for content is intensifying. By equipping participants with a digital mindset and multi-platform production skills, as well as the ability to apply AI, the course supports not only the content creation process, but also expands opportunities to reach larger audiences.
