VTV.vn - According to recent data released by the General Statistics Office on Sunday, the consumer price index (CPI) in July rose 0.13% month on month.

The increase has been seen in 5 commodity groups, including transport, posting the highest rise at 1.19%.

The growth of July’s CPI, according to experts, is due to soaring transport prices, stemming from a hike in fuel prices and train tickets.

The rise in demand for power due to hot weather has also contributed to the expansion of the CPI.

Despite the fluctuation of global gold prices, the domestic gold price still remains relatively stable at around 1600 US dollars per tael. The VND-US dollar rate this month is also stable, at around 22,300 dong per US dollar.
