Cooperation with World Bank boosts urban development in Vietnam

VTV.vn - On June 28 in Hanoi, Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction and the World Bank signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish their sustainable urban infrastructure development partnership for 2017 to 2021.

The agreement was inked by Minister of Construction, Pham Hong Ha, and World Bank Country Director for Vietnam, Ousmane Dione. Under the MoU, the two sides will foster cooperation and technical support, improve capacity and share experiences in perfecting legal documents, regulations and mechanisms on urban management and development. The cooperation will also gear towards adjusting national urban development planning and building the national urban development programme for 2021-2030 and regional development initiatives. They will also work towards building effective tools in support of urban development projects in order to tackle rbanization challenges and promote reforms in the water sector.
