This week’s episode of Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Do Duong Minh Quan (High School for the Gifted, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City); Khuat Duy Tung (Phuc Tho High School, Hanoi); Dang Thanh Gia My (Thien Ho Duong High School, Dong Thap); and Pham Thi Hong Nhung (Nguyen Thien Thuat High School, Hung Yen).
In the Individual Warm-up round, Minh Quan earned the highest score of 40 points, while Duy Tung, Gia My, and Hong Nhung each earned 30 points. During the General Warm-up, the contestants rang the bell continuously but with little efficiency. Minh Quan delivered the most correct answers and raised his total to 70 points, followed by Hong Nhung (30 points), Gia My (20 points), and Duy Tung (15 points).
In the Overcome Obstacle round, all four contestants answered the first question correctly, though the revealed puzzle piece provided limited clues. After the second question, Minh Quan rang the bell to answer the obstacle, providing the correct response, “Fireworks”. The schoolboy from Ho Chi Minh City continued to lead the climb with 140 points, while the rankings of the remaining three contestants remained unchanged.
The Speed-up round offered an opportunity for rapid point gains. In the first question, Minh Quan was the only contestant to score 40 points. In the second question, all contestants except Gia My answered correctly; Minh Quan responded the fastest and again earned 40 points. He maintained a wide lead through the remaining questions of the round. The Speed-up concluded with Minh Quan in first place (300 points), followed by Hong Nhung (90 points), Gia My (90 points), and Duy Tung (65 points).
As the first contestant in the Finish round, Minh Quan chose the package of three 20-point questions. Although he failed to answer two of the three questions, he still finished the round with a strong total of 320 points.
Meanwhile, Gia My, Hong Nhung, and Duy Tung all selected the same three-question, 20-point package. Gia My was unable to answer any of the questions, losing points to Hong Nhung (20 points) and Minh Quan (40 points). Hong Nhung lost 40 points to Minh Quan as well. The final contestant, Duy Tung, was unable to make a breakthrough and ended his performance with 105 points. As a result, the winner of this week’s Road to Olympia Mount Laurel wreath is Minh Quan, with a final score of 380 points.
