Container storage fees to be exempted, reduced

The Vietnam Maritime Administration just announced exemptions and reductions of fees for container and shipment storage services. According to the Administration, seaports nationwide had been storing more than 24,100 containers of scrap by Jan 25th.

The Administration asked the owners of containers to cooperate with shipping companies to review and classify the containers and shipments kept in seaports for a long time. Based on their classification, businesses will have to carry out procedures to ask for fee exemptions or reductions following current regulations.
