Since early this morning, cold air began affecting most of the Central region, causing central provinces from Nghe An to Thua Thien-Hue to suffer heavy rains.
The Gulf of Tonkin waters will face strong winds of level 6, even reaching levels 9 at times.
Due to the influence of the intense cold spell, cities and provinces from Da Nang to Binh Thuan will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms from October 18 to 19 while the Northern Delta and coastal areas will receive scattered showers and thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds.
The lowest temperatures commonly range from 18-21C in the North and North Central regions, and below 17C in the mountainous areas.
Hanoi will suffer showers and thunderstorms, with the lowest temperatures ranging from 18-20C.
The Gulf of Tonkin and the northern part of the East Sea/South China Sea, including waters of Hoang Sa (Paracel) Archipelago, will experience strong winds of level 6, even level 8 at times, as well as 2-3m high waves and rough waters.
