This is due to the steady increase in domestic prices of these products in recent years. Currently, coffee planting areas span over 15 thousand hectares, while this figure is 11 thousand hectares for pepper. With this expansion, Daklak province became the biggest coffee and pepper grower nationwide.
This growth has created thousands of additional jobs for the local people. However, according to authorities, the speed of expansion has also resulted in deforestation and land erosion.
