Cobra Gold military exercise kicks off in Thailand

This year's exercise is the 38th of its kind. This year's exercise consists largely of table-top exercises, field training, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

China and India will participate in a humanitarian assistance exercise. Thailand and the United States, co-hosts of the multinational exercise, as well as Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea and Malaysia are participating in full exercises, while China and India are joining with a limited scope.

Ten other countries will observe the exercise.
