Coastal erosion in the Mekong river delta

In Ben Tre province, 3 coastal and 1 riverbank areas in Ba Tri, Bình Đại, Thanh Phú provinces and Ben Tre city have been marked as landslide warning zones. In Ca Mau province, 8 areas are at risk of landslide, affecting residential areas in Ngọc Hiển and Năm Căn district. One of factors causing this is believed to sediment imbalance. Landslides are forecast to last from September until next March. People in the affected areas must relocate quickly to safety zones.
