Deputy head of Quang Ninh’s tourism authority Trinh Dang Thanh stated that with its natural beauty, Co To is emerging as one of the most appealing destinations to both Vietnamese and foreign tourists.
As part of the tourism week, various art, sports and promotional programmes will be held while leaflets in Vietnamese and English will be handed out to help tourists learn more about the island.
One of the most notable events is the launch of a high-speed boat service between Tuan Chau and Co To, which can carry 300 passengers on each journey.
In 2019, Co To welcomed nearly 300,000 tourists, including 4,200 foreign arrivals, bringing in a total of VND700 billion (US$30 million) in tourism revenue.
It is forecast that over the weekend the island will welcome more than 4,500 tourists who are destined to enjoy unique experiences that cannot be found elsewhere.
