Cine 7 - The Weekend Film Rendezvous
The name Cine 7 is derived from Cine (short for cinema) and 7, symbolizing cinema as the seventh art and the program’s Saturday night broadcast on VTV3. The show takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through time, revisiting historical milestones of the nation through the lens of classic Vietnamese films.
A Space to Meet Legendary Guests
Beyond screening iconic films closely tied to Vietnam’s revolutionary history, Cine 7 – Memories of Vietnamese Cinema also will feature meaningful conversations with renowned filmmakers and legendary actors, whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the country’s cinematic landscape. Hosted by MC Thai Trang, these stories will be presented in an intimate and heartfelt manner, ensuring that audiences of all generations can connect with the guests.
In its debut episode, the program will delve into the classic “An Appointment Once Again (Den hen lai len)”, directed by Tran Vu. The film’s bittersweet love story, set against the backdrop of Vietnam before the August Revolution of 1945, adds depth and historical significance to its narrative.
People’s Artist Nhu Quynh and Meritorious Artist Vu Tu Lam, the film’s two lead actors, will be the special guests of the first episode.

Cine 7 – Memories of Vietnamese Cinema is not just a retrospective for seasoned film lovers but also a platform for young enthusiasts to showcase their appreciation for Vietnam’s cinematic heritage. The program will feature young talents such as content creator Cartie Diem (from the TikTok channel Ca Ti Dayyy), who passionately recreates iconic film scenes. Additionally, members of Quan ho 48h, a club dedicated to preserving traditional Quan Ho folk music, will share their love for this timeless art form. Future episodes will also highlight film students and young performers acting out roles from revolutionary films, allowing them to express their admiration for classic Vietnamese cinema.
