In his speech, Nguyen Dinh Trung, Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, emphasised that the great and comprehensive victory of the Buon Ma Thuot battle created a strategic breakthrough, enabling the mobilisation of all forces to launch the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, advancing towards the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.
The Buon Ma Thuot Victory has been established as a glorious chapter in Vietnam's history, a heroic and resounding triumph, that is a great honour and pride for the Party, authorities, military, and people of Dak Lak Province and the entire nation.
Over the past 50 years since liberation, the Party, authorities, and people of Dak Lak have united to achieve significant accomplishments and notable milestones in various fields of economics, agriculture, trade, services, and tourism.
Significant progress has been seen in culture, social welfare, defence and security, and international cooperation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha applauded the efforts and achievements of the Party, authorities, and people of Dak Lak Province in both the national resistance wars and the current construction process.
He noted that the global and regional situation will witness complicated developments. While peace, cooperation, and development remain major trends, numerous challenges and uncertainties persist, that pose serious threats to national stability and sustainability.
Therefore, he asked the Party and people of Dak Lak to mobilise greater determination, promote the spirit of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory, overcome difficulties and challenges, and strive to achieve new successes.
