Central provinces still suffer toxic pollution

After the Formosa major toxic pollution incident in April that caused mass fish deaths in four central provinces, the prime minister instructed ministries and agencies to test, review and implement technical measures in order to properly assess the quality of the marine environment, the safety of fish and seafood, and offer guidance on the safety of farmed aquatic products, fishing and tourism. The results were announced at a press briefing yesterday morning in Hanoi.

Ministries and local agencies have conducted a review to identify the scale of compensation and level of support provided to affected people in the four provinces in a report lodged with the prime minister yesterday.
