Car import slow down as tax reduction nears

In Hai Phong port, the Hai Phong port area 1 Customs Branch is the unit with the largest number of imported automobiles with open declarations.

This is due to the Customs Branch settling customs procedures for special purpose ship (or RoRo), which transports imported automobiles to Hai Phong twice a month.

Under the Preferential Import Tariff Schedule for implementing the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA), the import duty of completed automobiles will be reduced to 0%.
