Canada supports female migrant workers in Binh Duong with CAD50,000

VTV.vn - The Government of Canada has presented CAD50,000 to support female migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 epidemic in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The information was released by the Canadian Embassy in Vietnam on October 29.

Via the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, Canada will support 1,125 disadvantaged female migrant workers in Binh Duong, including pregnant women and those with young children affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

The support includes food relief packages, necessities and psychological counselling for needy female migrant workers.

According to Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Paul, Binh Duong is one of the Vietnamese provinces which has been hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Canada stands in solidarity with Vietnam and is happy to support those in need, she noted.
