VTV.vn - In the 2014-2015 Winter-Spring harvest and the 2015 Summer-Autumn harvest, over 500,000 USD was spent by the South Central coastal province of Binh Dinh to help deal with drought and salinization.

These were periods in which the province suffered from severe droughts, causing heavy damage to harvests. The money was used to assist localities like Phu My, Hoai Nhon, and Hoai An district pay for pumping, irrigation, and water systems.

Binh Dinh is one of the provinces most affected by climate change. In 2015 alone, over 8,500 ha of crops were damaged, forcing farmers to feed them to cattle instead. Large areas of agricultural land were abandoned because of droughts. Droughts in 2015 also caused water shortages for many families.
