Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai requested the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) to distribute funds to the right subjects and in a harmonious manner between localities.

The government official made the request at a virtual meeting held by the VBSP on February 16 on the implementation of the Government Resolution No.11, dated January 30, 2022, on the socio-economic recovery programme and the National Assembly’s Resolution No.43 on the fiscal and monetary policies to support the recovery programme.

The Deputy PM praised performance of the system of the VBSP over the past years, adding that the bank should continue to follow and effectively implement the directions of the Government.

Regarding Resolution 11, the VBSP was assigned to disburse a total of 38.4 trillion VND, thus the Deputy PM requested that the bank quickly distribute the funds to support the national socio-economic recovery and development.

Under Resolution 11, the VBSP is assigned to implement preferential credit programme for job creation, social home buyers, students, ethnic minority people, educational institutions affected by the pandemic, employers and employees hit by the pandemic, and others.

According to the VBSP, a total of more than 3.7 trillion VND has been provided for employers in 63 provinces and cities to pay wages for more than 964,000 employees affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past nearly 20 years, more than 40.8 million needy households and policy beneficiaries were provided with preferential loans totalling over 742 trillion VND from the VBSP.
