The animals, which included six wildcats and three toothed turtles, were handed over by local residents following a call to action by Phat Quang Pagoda in Bac Lieu. The pagoda later worked with the Forest Protection Department to ensure their safe return to the wild, said its Abbot Venerable Thien Phuc.
U Minh Ha National Park, a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, is home to a variety of wildlife, including many endangered species. The release of these animals marks a significant step toward preserving the park's biodiversity.
