Located in Dong Do Village Cultural and Eco-Tourism Site Lam Thao Commune, Luong Tai District, the tower is 15m tall and is designed in the shape of a giant rice grain.
It is made of 1,012 stone mortars arranged around the outside, while the inside is framed by concrete pillars and a staircase, with the total weight of Than Nong Tower being about 130 tonnes.
The tower was built to honour Vietnam’s wet rice agriculture as well as the country’s traditional culture.
In May this year, the tower was recognised by VietKings as the largest rice grain-shaped tower in Vietnam.
