This will be the third Vietnamese fruit to enter the Australian market after lychees and mangoes. With the decision, Vietnam currently remains the first and only country to be given the permit to import fresh dragon fruit into Australia. This will be carried out with strict requirements in place, like all Vietnamese exporting enterprises must have a permit from the Australian Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources. Additionally, all goods imported into Australia must also have pest control certification from the Vietnam Plant Protection Department.
