Australia prevents antibiotics abuse

The move comes after data revealed that about 50 percent of prescriptions were repeats, which shows that antibiotics, even those prescribed correctly, were being misused.

Federal departments reviewing Australia's five-year antimicrobial resistance strategy have said that the problem is so huge that they need a 20-year plan made up of shorter action plans tied to government budget cycles.
