August’s Kindness Journey: Lighting Up Dreams in Tan Yen, Bac Giang

Tan Yen District in Bac Giang Province is a picturesque countryside with serene landscapes and kind-hearted people. It is also home to many hardworking students from underprivileged backgrounds who strive to overcome their circumstances. The August Kindness Journey visited this area to carry out a special mission called "Lighting Up Dreams" for these students.

A "Dream House" for Tam and Her Mother

On an early August day, as summer gave way to autumn, the Kindness Journey bus left Hanoi for Bac Giang. The first stop was the home of Mrs. Ta Thi Huy and her daughter, Ta Minh Tam.

Ta Minh Tam is a bright student who, despite her family's difficult circumstances, has always excelled in her studies. For a long time, Tâm and her mother lived in a small, old house with a leaky roof and cracked walls. Life was tough, and the dream of a new, sturdy home seemed far out of reach.

However, within just a month, a "Dream House" was built, thanks to the combined  efforts of the Kindness Journey team, the Building Dreams - Cung em den truong group, the Tan Yen District Red Cross, and their family. The new house, decorated in vibrant colors, brings hope for a brighter future for Tâm and her mother.

30 Underprivileged Students Compete in the "Dream Bell Challenge"

Also in Tan Yen, the August Kindness Journey hosted a knowledge competition called "Dream Bell Challenge". Thirty students were selected to participate, all of whom have excelled academically despite facing significant challenges.

The competition consisted of 30 questions on subjects such as culture, history, geography, and social knowledge, testing the skillss of Tan Yen students.

Six students made it to the final round, each winning a stylish new bicycle, and two of them were awarded special scholarships from the Kindness Journey. Additionally, all 30 participants received gifts from sponsors. The Kindness Journey aimed to provide these students with an enriching experience as they prepared for the new school year, and the gifts are intended to support them on their educational journey.

When we are driven by "passion," every action we take becomes a source of happiness. The Kindness Journey is fueled by its passion—to bring joy and smiles to every place we visit, spreading kindness wherever we go!
