At the Conference, the Ministers talked about the international and regional situation, the Ministers reaffirmed that ASEAN would continue its efforts to actively support humanitarian issues in the state of Ra-Khai, Myanmar and to strengthen cooperation on counter-terrorism, extremist violence and transnational crimes, including making sure there's good network security and marine waste prevention.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the Ministers noted the progress of the Code of Conduct negotiations in the East Sea (COC). However, they also said that the situation is still complicated and called on the parties to restrain any actions that could lead to tension.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh welcomed the progress the ASEAN Community has made.
