ASEAN defence ministers' talks kicks off in Malaysia

The Vietnamese delegation is headed by Deputy Defence Minister Admiral Nguyen Van Hien. Addressing the opening session, Malaysian Minister of Defence Hishammuddin Hussein reaffirmed the commitment of ASEAN countries in maintaining peace and stability in the area. The defence ministers will discuss a number of issues concerning regional security such as the risk of terrorism, cyber security, recent developments in the East Sea and other security issues that affect the common interests of ASEAN. They will also discuss plans to hold the upcoming ADMM next year in Laos.
