It's expected to grow by 5.4% this year and by 5.2% next year. This statement was made during a conference on Friday that was organized by the Ministry of Finance and the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office.
Experts at the event also said Vietnam has positive short-term economic growth prospect. The conference also discussed challenges faced by ASEAN+3 such as the global financial situation and escalating tensions in global trade relations. In order to overcome these challenges, the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office recommended that countries switch from export-oriented production to technology-based growth models.
