VTV.vn - An arts programme was held in Hanoi on May 18, to celebrate the 129th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2019) and 50 years of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's testament.

Co-organised by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theatre, the event was attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Organisation Commission, Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member, PCC Secretary and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong; Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; PCC member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Uong Chu Luu; PCC member, Minister of Information and Communications and Deputy Head of PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Manh Hung; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien; Secretary of Nghe An provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; VOV General Director Nguyen The Ky and Deputy Head of the PCC's Commission for Mass Mobilisation Ha Ngoc Anh.

Addressing the event, Thuan Huu, a member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC Communication and Education Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that President Ho Chi Minh's life and career is a shining example of patriotism, communist qualities, intellectual wisdom, revolutionary morality and great encouragement for generations of Vietnamese people.

The art programme aims to expresses the deep gratitude for the huge contributions of the beloved national leader to the country’s independence and freedom.

The event gathered artists and performers, who brought songs and dances to the stage praising the Party and Uncle Ho, as well as the beauty of Vietnam’s land and people.

On the occasion, at the Hanoi Opera House, 38 paintings on President Ho Chi Minh were put on display.
