On the evening of August 2, the art program “The Heroic Song of the Vietnamese People’s Public Security” took place at the Hanoi Opera House in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the All-People’s Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 – August 19, 2025). Over the past 80 years, the soldiers of the Vietnamese People’s Public SecurityForce, also known as the “Living and Steel Shields”, have remained loyal, indomitable and steadfast in their defence of the nation. They have silently and without hesitation, they have sacrificed blood and bones to protect every peaceful moment for the nation and its people, preserving the solemn and resilient reputation of the country through selfless dedication.
The grand-scale program featured over 1,000 public security officers alongside renowned artists such as Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Vo Ha Tram, violinist Anh Tu, Captain and singer Tran Thu Huong, and professional dance troupes.
“The Epic of the Vietnamese People’s Public Security” is meticulously staged and divided into three chapters: Chapter I: The People’s Public Security Soldiers in the Image of the Nation; Chapter II: Proud of My Homeland; and Chapter III: A New Era – Steadfast into the Future.
Many of the performances are epic in scale, rich in visuals and emotion. Notably, newly composed pieces such as “Sworn for Peace” (by Nguyen Van Chung), “Pledge to Be Vietnamese”, “Amidst Peace”, and “Our People Sing Folk Songs” will premiere during this special broadcast.
The audience will enjoy top-tier artistic performances combined with cutting-edge stage technology, immersive sound, and lighting effects to create a majestic and sacred artistic space that stirs the emotions..
In addition to music, the program has incorporated state-of-the-art stage technology, including advanced lighting, visuals, and sound systems, to provide an all-encompassing and inspiring artistic experience. The honor guard, professional choir, dance ensembles, and leading lecturers and choreographers all contribute to a production of remarkable scale and quality.
Before the live show, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. the same day, a special public demonstration of techniques and professional skills by the People’s Public Security Force will take place at the Hoan Kiem pedestrian street (from the Hang Khay – Dinh Tien Hoang intersection to the “Martyrs Monument”). This large-scale demonstration, organized for the first time in the heart of the capital’s pedestrian zone, featured over 200 elite officers and modern, specialized vehicles.
Demonstrations included motorcycle escort formations with complex maneuvering techniques (such as fan formations and forming the number 80), artistic gun performances choreographed to the song “Worthy of the Sharp Sword”, performs martial arts and qigong demonstrations (such as lying on sword tips, breaking concrete with bare hands, and having cars drive over the body). There will also be simulated VIP protection scenarios. These displays not only highlight physical strength and unwavering spirit but also deliver high aesthetic value, helping the public better understand the demanding and often unseen work of the People’s Public Security Force.
It is also a rare opportunity for citizens to witness the Force's comprehensive operational capacity, tactical skills, and crisis-handling abilities first-hand – they are always ready to sacrifice themselves for the safety of society.
The program will be broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. on August 2, 2025, on VTV1 and all Vietnam Television digital platforms.
