Annual European music festival nears

VTV.vn - The European Music Festival will be held from November 18-29 in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as part the usual annual series of activities to mark EU-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

The festival will feature artists from Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Sweden – as well as a Vietnamese band. Nineteen concerts during the festival will also give audience a chance to experience jazz and rock to Vietnamese traditional music.

At a press conference in Hanoi on November 10, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam Bruno Angelet said that cultural exchange and community diplomacy is an important part of efforts to strengthen connectivity between EU and Vietnamese people in all fields.

Such events as the festival have contributed to enhancing the relationship and mutual understanding between the two sides, he added.

The 2015 European Music Festival is expected to impress Vietnamese audiences with concerts featuring famous artists from eight EU member countries - Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Sweden – as well as Vietnamese young band Hac San. 

Nineteen concerts during the festival will also give audience a chance to experience diverse music genres from jazz, rock to Vietnamese traditional music. 

First event will be held on November 18 at the Cong Nhan Cinema in Hanoi with the performance of Germany Brandt Brauer Frick band, and in Ho Chi Minh City with Swedish Tolvan Big Band. 

Tickets will be available for free from November 16 at the Goethe Institute and French Cultural Centre (L’Espace) in Hanoi and the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF) in Ho Chi Minh City.
