Aid package helps localities cope with drought, saltwater intrusion

These 34 localities  comprise provinces most severely affected by drought and salinization.

Earlier in February, the Prime Minister agreed to provide 3.8 million USD for six localities to counter drought and saltwater intrusion in the 2015 Summer-Autumn crop.

It is predicted that drought and saltwater intrusion will peak in March, but will last until June. As many as 140,000 ha of rice have been damaged, nearly 90,000 ha of which resulted in a 70 percent loss.
