The celebration will be organised by the African Group of Ambassadors in Vietnam, in collaboration with the Vietnamese government. It is also an opportunity to showcase the diverse culture and tradition of African countries and the socio-economic development in the continent.
A reception ceremony will be attended by a Guest of Honour from Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and more than 150 guests. It will feature the diverse tradition of the continent, especially various dishes from African cuisine provided by the eight African embassies in Hanoi, including Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa.
The Ambassadors of African countries in Vietnam, will emphasise the importance of strengthening the multifaceted partnership between African countries and Vietnam and cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two sides.

A seminar entitled “Accelerating the Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam” will be held on May 24 by the Africa Group of Ambassadors in Vietnam, the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Institute for Africa and Middle East Studies (IAMES) of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS).
The seminar, will provide a platform for Vietnamese and African to explore ways and opportunities to strengthen trade and economic relations between African countries and Vietnam, especially via the AfCFTA which will be discussed to highlight its opportunities and challenges for both Africa and Vietnam.
