AEC brings Vietnamese enterprises opportunities
VTV.vn - A seminar on “Opportunities for Hanoi businesses when joining the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC)” was held in Hanoi on January 8th and drew the attention of many enterprises.

The seminar is regarded as a great chance for enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, and strategic planners in both Vietnam and other countries in the region to set targets and methods for development.

Addressing the event, representatives from different enterprises discussed strategies for Vietnamese enterprises, especially exporters, to enhance effective cooperation with ASEAN nations.

"Thanks to this seminar, we have a better understanding about the benefits of the integration course. Hence, we know what to do next, how to introduce our products to other countries, and how to compete with others in the AEC." - Nguyen Viet Hung, Head of Hanoi Young Entrepreneur Association.

"Due to the fact that almost all Vietnamese enterprises are small and medium-sized, we haven’t set any long-term strategies in business. Hence, we may not be well-prepared when facing challenges as well as opportunities." - Nguyen Son, Deputy Chief, the Inter-agency Steering Committee for International Integration of the Economy.

Singapore is considered a country with a high rate of businesses that understand the mechanism of the AEC. Representatives from the country shared many useful experiences at the event.

"What Singapore has done is that we posted all necessary information related to the AEC, trade, and the economy on the Internet. Hence, Singaporean residents as well as businesses can be aware of the AEC to easily integrate in the regional economy." - Ami Wi, Singapore Business Association in Vietnam (SBAV)

Such a seminar is essential for Vietnamese enterprises to have more information so they can enhance their investment efficiency when joining the AEC in the coming time.
