Active solutions carried out to ensure safety during national high school graduation exams

VTV.vn - Localities across the nation are carrying out various solutions and preparing for a range of scenarios to ensure the safety for the 2021 national high school graduation exams in amid complicated developments of COVID-19.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the country has more than one million candidates have registered for the exams. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the ministry plans to organise the exams in two phases, with Phase 1 to last from July 7 to 8 and Phase 2 for candidates who are COVID-19 infection cases, their close contacts and those in areas that are under medical blockade and cannot attend the first phase.

According to Director of Quality Management under the Ministry of Education and Training Mai Van Trinh, localities have actively prepared for the exam organisation of with all secured facilities and equipment.

They have disinfected all testing venues, while preparing temperature monitors, masks and hand sanitisers and readying backup exam rooms at the test sites for all scenarios. Some have vaccinated officials and teachers on duty at the exams, as well as conducting COVID-19 testing for staff, teachers and candidates.

In Vinh Long, with more than 11,000 candidates registered for the exams, the locality has arranged 31 official test sites and eight backup one. The province has set up 31 quick response teams to measure body temperature, regulate and support candidates. All forces on duty at the exams have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and all free candidates in the province will be tested for SARS-CoV-2.

Hung Yen Province has deployed rapid testing for 2,631 candidates, as well as testing and vaccinating all forces on duty. The province has 1,761 candidates who will take part in the second round of the exams, while 12,508 others will sit the first phase. The number of initial expected exam venues has been reduced from 31 to 28.

On July 4, participants performing tasks at the exams on Phu Quy Island (Binh Thuan Province) with the test sets having safely arrived at Phu Quy Port. This is the first year grade 12 students in Phu Quy will sitting the exams on the spot. Therefore, this is also the first time that the exam papers have been transported by passenger ship to the island. Before that, all officials who participated in the examination were allowed to give their samples for testing and had negative results within 48 hours before boarding a ship to the island.

On the same day, Hai Phong Department of Education and Training coordinated with the city’s Department of Health collected samples for COVID-19 testing from more than 2,100 candidates, officials, teachers and employees participating in the exams in Vinh Bao District.

In Da Nang, 12,716 candidates also gave their samples for testing on the same day. Nearly 16,226 people, including the staff on duty, will be tested before the exams take place.

Ho Chi Minh City has completed the SARS-CoV-2 screening test for all staff, teachers and candidates taking part in the exams, with around 85,036 candidates sampled for testing, while around 15,785 teachers have also given their samples.
