A Peaceful Homeland Gala: An 80-Year Journey of Loyalty and Courage

To  mark the 80th anniversary of the People's Security Force (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026), the Ministry of Public Security, in collaboration with the Hanoi People's Committee, presented  a special gala, “A Peaceful Homeland,” on the evening of July 12 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square. The event was broadcast live on VTV1.

The gala was attended by senior Party and State leaders, including General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, and Tran Duc Thang, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; and   representatives of ministries, agencies, the People's Public Security Force,; as well as thousands of members of the public.

Through a blend of   music, dance, drama, documentary footage, and visual storytelling, the gala used the image of flowing water as its central motif. This metaphor captures the essence of  the People's Security Force: an invisible yet omnipresent shield  on the nation's most challenging front lines.

The program unfolded in three chapters, each reflecting a different stage in the force's 80-year journey:

“The Source revisited”: This chapter recreated  Hanoi in 1946, when the newly established security force successfully thwarted a significant counterrevolutionary plot in the historic On Nhu Hau Case.

“The Underground Current”: Honored the silent sacrifices of generations of security officers who have worked closely with the people to safeguard national peace.

“The Great Flow”:  It highlighted the force's commitment to innovation while preserving its proud traditions and reaffirmed its strategic role in national security. This segment also paid tribute to the outstanding Heroes of the People's Armed Forces.

The gala also featured performances by leading Vietnamese artists, including singers Hong Nhung, Pham Thu Ha, Ngoc Anh, Hoang Bach, Lam Bao Ngoc, and Anh Tu, as well as artistic ensembles from the People's Public Security Force.

Through music, storytelling, and powerful stage performances, “A Peaceful Homeland” conveyed a clear message: Peace is never achieved by chance. It   stands as a testament to  the loyalty, wisdom, courage, and quiet sacrifices of generations of People's Security officers who have devoted themselves to protecting the nation's independence and the well-being of its people.

Held in Hanoi, where the People's Security Force's historic tradition began 80 years ago, the gala also marked the final stop of the nationwide “A Peaceful Homeland journey”tour. Moving from  Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City to the capital, the event brought  the three-city tribute to a meaningful close.
