On the occasion of the Lunar New Year and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18), Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping spoke on telephone.
The Vietnamese leader wished the Chinese people to have more successful achievements in national development and in-depth reform under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.
The General Secretary and President of China sent best wishes to the Vietnamese people for the Lunar New Year 2020 and the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He affirmed that China will actively support Vietnam in fulfilling its duties as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020-2021 term and the ASEAN Chair in 2020.
