At the dialogue, the two sides agreed to continue strengthening the partnership in various fields such as the exchange of delegations at all levels, personnel training and sharing experience in UN peacekeeping activities and overcoming the aftermath of war, including bomb and mine clearance and detoxification.
They also agreed to work closely on cyber security, maritime security, defence procurement and technology transfers. Vietnam proposed that Japan provide official development assistance to help the country test new dioxin decontamination technologies in Bien Hoa Airport in the southern province of Dong Nai and carry out bomb and mine clearance projects, he said.
The Japanese side agreed to consider the possibility of co-operation via an information technology and foreign language centre at the Vietnam Ministry of Defence's Communications University.
