4th Hanoi International Film Festival held in Hanoi

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned Cinema Department and other agencies to be in charge of holding 4^th Hanoi International Film Festival for 5 days in the fourth quarter of 2016 in Hanoi.

Previously, 3^rd Hanoi International Film Festival took place in 2014. In the finale, Two Women (Russia) won Best Series and Best Actress for Anna Astrakhantseva. Meanwhile, “Đập cánh giữa không trung” (Vietnam) won Special Award from the judge.

In other category, Shahram Mokr was honored as Best Director for his work in Fish and Cat. Also, Allen Dizon was welcomed to the stage to receive Best Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal in The Coffin Maker.

Hanoi International Film Festival is well-attended by the audience domestically, which showings of foreign films in Vietnam are crowded with spectators. According to statistics, 2014 Hanoi International Film Festival has 190 free movie-showings attracting more than 30.000 audiences. Also, many Vietnamese products have rekindled the interest of the audience. This is a good sign for Vietnam Cinema and it is also the purpose of holding Hanoi International Film Festival every 2 years.
