4,000 bridges to be built for ethnic communities by 2020
VTV.vn - Around 4,000 bridges will be built to facilitate the travel and livelihoods of ethnic groups across the country by 2020. This is part of a government programme for the period from 2014-2020.
The programme, worth nearly 337 million USD, is being implemented in 5,237 communes in 450 districts, across 50 provinces and cities. In the first phase from 2014-2015, 186 bridges were built in 28 mountainous provinces throughout the nation, at a cost of 41 million USD. Phase 2 will be subsidized by official development assistance (ODA), local budgets and social resources.
