38th session of Vietnam–Laos Inter-Governmental Committee convened

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, President of the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Committee and Laos Deputy Prime Minister Somsavad Lengsavath attended the meeting. The two sides shared the view that the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Agreement for the 2011-2015 period has been implemented effectively in various aspects. The Vietnam side promised to support Laos in holding the ASEAN Presidency next year. Both sides are committed to promoting free migration of people living in border areas and improving administrative formalities for investors. Vietnam and Laos agreed to raise next year's bilateral trade turnover by 20% compared to this year./.
