A highlight of the performance was when attendants formed the national flag and the Vietnamese map with the Paracel - Spratly Islands, representing the Ho Chi Minh city youth's love of country. This is one of the activities of the Áo dài Festival 2017.
The event celebrates the Ao Dai, the national dress of Vietnam, during different periods of time and is aimed at promoting traditional cultural values among young Vietnamese women.
Other events include fashion shows, concerts, photo exhibitions, vendors, handicrafts, games, and competitions. The festival will close on March 17. Last year, the festival attracted more than 50,000 foreign and local visitors.
