VTV.vn - A repatriation flight for 300 Vietnamese evacuated from Ukraine landed early Thursday morning at Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport.

This is the first group of Vietnamese evacuees to be brought home from Poland. Passengers were mainly pregnant women, children, older adults, and those with underlying illnesses. Poland has so far received 2,500 Vietnamese evacuees from Ukraine, the largest number of neighboring countries. The Vietnamese embassy in Ukraine is working quickly to support citizens and bring them home safely.

Support provided for Vietnamese citizens in Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Sun Group, and Vietnam Airlines Corporation on March 10 signed a cooperation agreement to support the repatriation of Vietnamese citizens from the Ukraine war zone.

The first flight is expected to take off on March 12 for Warsaw (Poland) to pick up Vietnamese evacuees and bring them home on March 13. Over the past 2 years, Sun Group has welcomed more than 230 rescue flights through Van Don Airport.
