On the afternoon of September 30, Vietnam Television held a press conference to announce the key programs celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation. The Center for Digital Content Production and Development, the Editorial Secretariat, and the Documentary Film Center jointly introduced the Hanoi Documentary Week on VTVGo.
The week features 20 works spanning from the 1980s and offers a wide range of content, with many notable films such as Hanoi in Whose Eyes, When the Mist Clears, Hanoi Night, Hanoi Old Quarter, among others. Additionally, some films explore topics such as history, archaeology, Hanoi’s temples, and police investigations.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Lam, Deputy Director of the Documentary Film Center, stated: "This is a very special event, which not only showcases films that Hanoi residents are proud of but also celebrates the filmmakers who draw inspiration from Hanoi in various forms".

In addition to uploading and screening films on the digital platform, VTV will also host three live screenings at Studio S7. During these screenings, audiences will have the opportunity to listen to compositions and performances about Hanoi. Along with watching the films, they will be able to interact with filmmakers, production teams, and characters featured in the documentaries. This is a new content distribution model, different from VTV’s traditional approach.
As part of the film week, Vietnam Television will also present three new documentaries: Our House (3 episodes), Where Peace Begins, and Dr. Tran Duy Hung - A Hanoi Persona.
The Hanoi Documentary Week will take place from October 4 to October 10, 2024. All films will be available on the VTVGo digital platform. Additionally, offline screenings will be held from October 4 to October 6 at Studio S7 of Vietnam Television with a variety of activities.
