2.3 million households still in poverty
VTV.vn - Vietnam currently has over 2.31 million poor households, which accounts for 9.79% of total households in the country according to the latest government survey.

The north-western mountainous area has the highest poor households ratio at 34.52%. Meanwhile, the south east region had the lowest ratio at 1.23%. At provincial level, Dien Bien, Ha Giang and Cao Bang provinces had the highest poor household ratio at 48.14%, 43.65% and 42.53% respectively. Binh Duong was the only province with no poor households. Based on these results, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs will co-operate with other ministries and agencies to address the issue.
