Prior to the opening ceremony, incumbent and former leaders of the Party and State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and National Assembly deputies paid floral tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi.
Apart from law-building and decision-making on the country’s major matters, legislators will also review the performance of the State, National Assembly, and Government agencies over the past tenure. Notably, they plan to devote a considerable amount of time to deciding the State's leadership positions. The deputies are scheduled to gather at plenary sessions for 12 days, which will conclude on April 8.
