12 Vietnamese fishermen arrested by Malaysian authorities

The News Straits Times newspaper quoted a Mawilla 1 statement as saying that the boat was arrested on December 8 in Terengganu waters, about 120 nautical miles from Pulau Perhentian.

The Malaysian authorities held that the fishermen violated the country’s Fisheries Act 1985. They towed the boat to Pulau Perhentian before handing over it to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
