104 students participated in the finals of Vietnam Mindmap Championship 2022

On the morning of December 17, the Vietnam Institute of Records, the Department of Science and Education Programs - Vietnam Television and Tam Tri Luc Education Group held a press conference on the Vietnam Mind Mapping Championship 2022.

As shared by the contest organizers at the press conference, there are 104 students from grades 1 to 12 who passed the weekly and monthly exams with flying colors to move on to the final round of the individual award directly on the morning of December 18, 2022 itself.

The competition will also look for champions who will represent Vietnam in the upcoming national and international mind mapping tournaments.

On the same day in the afternoon, the awards ceremony of the Vietnam Mind Map Championship 2022 took place, where competition prizes were awarded in the main categories, including the team competition (broadcast on science and education channel VTV2 and educational TV channel VTV7) and the individual competition round.

According to the Organizing Committee, the final round of this year's Vietnam Mindmap 2022 Championship has received the participation of many "masters" in Super Memory and Mind Mapping, as well as top leaders of the World Mind Mapping Council organization.

They are GS. Marek Kasperski, Vice-President of Tony Buzan Company, President of the International Memory Sports Referees Association (GOMSA), Head of Global Refereeing for the World Mind Mapping and Speed Reading Championships; Mr. Dominic O'Brien - Super Memory Monument and eight-time World Champion, author of many famous books on memory, Head of the Ethics Committee of the World Memory Competition; Sr. Teo Kim Foo - Chairman of the World Memory Sports Council Malaysia, Head of the Malaysian Memory Championship Referee Committee, Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific Memory Sports Council; Princess Tengku Faizwa of Malaysia, organizer of the 22nd World Memory Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where the first Memory Championship in Asia was held in 1991, together with many important events to promote memory skills, mind mapping and creativity in Asia.

As the person who has worked hard to bring the Super Memory and World Mind Map competitions to Vietnam for the past 6 years, World Super Memory Record holder Nguyen Phung Phong, president of Mindmap Vietnam, said "I look forward to the final competition of Mind Map Competition 2022 to see the joy, creativity and growth of the children in the last year of training."

With the format "Draw a Mind Map from the content of a topic or lesson in a textbook dictated by the Organizing Committee," the contest received 7,717 entries from students of all grades. Assessing the quality of this year's entries, Mr. Phung Phong added, "The quality of this year's candidates is quite outstanding. They have far exceeded the expectations of the Organizing Committee members. The tests show the boundless creativity of Vietnamese candidates in creating effective mind maps."

The representative of the Vietnam Record Institute, Mr. Le Tran Truong An, Chairman of the Institute's Board, said, "The World Mind Mapping Championship was officially first held in 1998, in London, by Professor Tony Buzan and his teacher, international chess master and OBE holder Raymond Keene. To date, there have been 13 seasons of the World Mind Mapping Championship, attracting over 4000 participants worldwide.

"This will be a great trial with the hope that soon, Vietnam will be the next country to successfully host the World Mind Mapping Contest. Above all, it is hoped that the contest will continue to spread, spreading effective methods of learning and memorizing with mind maps, helping to limit memorization and passive recording, and stimulate the imagination and creativity of Vietnamese students.

The final round of the Vietnam Mindmap 2022 Championship Individual Award will be held at Hong Bang International University (Ho Chi Minh City) on the morning of December 18, 2022. 104 students from 1st to 12th grade have excellently passed the weekly and monthly competitions to be present at this national final.

After the competition, the top 12 students from each grade will have the opportunity to join the Vietnamese team to compete at the World Mind Mapping Contest 2023. Prior to that, the Team Finals, organized under the Gameshow version on the national TV channel VTV7 with 48 teams were held. Creative Team 1 from Hanh Thinh Primary School, Quang Ngai province emerged as the champion of this season.

Within the framework of the Mind Mapping Contest held in Vietnam in 2022, the ceremony to receive the memento of the "father" of Mind Map, the late Prof. Tony Buzan delivered by Prof. Marek Kasperski to the Mindmap Vietnam Male Organization will also be held. After President Tony Buzan passed away, he left mementos of his professional career to his beloved wife, Lady Lorraine. The lady authorized the president of the World Mind Sports Association GOMSA, Professor Marek Kasperski, a close friend of President Tony Buzan, to select and deliver precious memorabilia to Nguyen Trong Dong, who has always strived for and fully inherited the ideals of Mr. Tony Buzan.

In response to this sentiment, Mindmap Vietnam has proposed to start a "Tony Buzan Foundation" with the company of Tam Tri Luc Education Group for the dissemination of Super Memory and Mind Mapping on the Internet.
