The Spring of Reunification is part of the series of events marking the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) under the direction of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization. The event is coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The Department of Performing Arts presides over the production, with the Vietnam National Music, Song and Dance Theatre collaborating with various units for implementation.
The 90-minute show will feature 1,000 performers, including artists, orchestras, choirs, and dance ensembles. Prominent performers include People’s Artists Thu Hien and Le Thuy, as well as Cam Van, Duc Tuan, Hoa Minzy, and artists from the show Call Me by Fire, such as People’s Artist Tu Long, Bang Kieu, Tuan Hung, and Hong Son.
The performance will be divided into three thematic chapters: The Pain of Division and the Road to Reunification, Spring of Peace, and Spring of a New Era, featuring songs that have resonated with generations of music lovers over the past half-century.
Spring of Reunification aims to highlight the profound significance and monumental scale of the 1975 Spring Victory, which liberated the South and reunified the country, one of the most pivotal moments in the nation’s history of building and safeguarding the homeland. The program seeks to promote patriotism, national pride, and revolutionary tradition under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. It also provides a comprehensive reflection on the achievements of the past 50 years of reunification and 40 years of renovation, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout the country. It also outlines future directions and development goals for the country in the new era, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in tandem with tourism development. The show underscores the unity of the Vietnamese people in ensuring the successful realization of the country’s modernization and innovation agenda.
Spring of Reunification will be broadcast live at 8:10 PM on April 29, 2025, on VTV1.
