Research has shown that the first 100 seconds of a TV performance are key for the performer to win the hearts of the audience. If these 100 seconds attract viewers, the piece will be watched until its end. Based on this study, the 100 Seconds of Splendor program offers new way of scoring.
Accordingly, 100 spectators at the studio will have two rounds of voting for the contestant. The first round after the first 100 seconds, and the second round in the final 100 seconds (for those who do not vote in 100 seconds).
Lights and sound sound alarm will inform the audience of the start and end time of voting. The score of the item will be the sum of the points in the first 100 seconds multiplied by 150% and the points in the last 100 seconds.
The contestants will be divided into two pools, each with 25 contestants, competing in five episodes as "Talent Search Night". After five episodes, the top voted 5 contestants will qualify for "Night of Converging Talent" to select the performance which will be on show in the finale. In the final "Night of Honor", the four best performances of the two groups compete.
The 100 Seconds of Splendor will be broadcast at 21:00 every Friday on VTV3, starting September 14th.
