At the meeting held on 27 November 2015 at VTV’s Headquarter, President Tran Binh Minh welcomed Mr. Peter Limbourg, Director General of Deutsche Welle (DW) on his very first time visit to Vietnam Television by denoting that DW has been airing over VTV’s Pay TV Platform for many years and being well attended by the Vietnamese audiences.
Over the past 5 years, VTV has had great achievements in term of content production, technology infrustructure development. And at the same time, VTV always keen on international cooperations.
Vietnam and Germany have much in common and it is crucial foundation for VTV and DW to cooperate in program exchange, documentary co-production so as to enhance the mutual understanding of the people of the two countries. VTV also hopes to have assistance from DW for human resource development, especially for VTV’s reporters, producers and technicians, Mr. Tran Binh Minh added.
With impression on VTV’s development progress, Mr. Peter Limbourg expressed that DW want to have an in-depth cooperation with VTV, especially in the filed of high-quality documentary or thematic programs, which are DW’s strength.
In regards to VTV’s proposal on human resource development, DW General Director also expressed his willingness to support and grant VTV staff with favorable conditions and suitable training courses, to further enhance the relationship between the two sides in particular and Vietnam– Germany in general.
On this occasion, the 2 parties have signed a memorandum on TV scientific programs provision.
