Based on research of historical material and scientific analysis for the restoration plan, the edifice will be restored following the architecture and décor of Emperor Khai Dinh’s reign in the early 20th century. The restoration project will cost and estimated 12 billion VND or 553 thousand USD.
Phu Van Lau is located on the main axis of Hue's Imperial Citadel. The edifice has sustained serious damage recently. In mid-May, part of the structure collapsed. This triggered an alarm among the local government and residents, as many of the other 29 relics within the UNESCO-recognized Hue Royal Palace have also sustained irreparable damage.
