The meeting reviewed the socio-economic situation and set key tasks and measures for the final two months of the year, with a view to fulfilling the 2026 targets and laying a solid foundation for growth in 2027.
The meeting reported positive socio-economic progress. State budget revenue in the first ten months reached nearly 95 billion US dollars, equivalent to 96.4 per cent of the annual estimate. Public investment disbursement stood at 75.4 per cent, while total trade turnover exceeded US$1.01 trillion, the first time ever it has surpassed the one trillion US dollar threshold.
To support the economy, the Government has cut electricity prices by 2 per cent from 1 November and reduced the special consumption tax on petrol to zero until the end of March 2027.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said: "Strong economic growth must go hand in hand with inflation control and price stability. Otherwise, its benefits will not reach the wider economy or the public. The state budget must also share the burden with businesses and the public. I urge the Price Management Steering Committee to work directly with local authorities to ensure strict price controls over the final two months of the year, particularly in major cities and provinces, keeping inflation within this year's target."
He also called for stronger domestic consumption, increased trade promotion and full public investment disbursement, alongside efforts to accelerate key projects and social housing development and ensure adequate supplies of essential goods.
The State Bank of Vietnam was tasked with maintaining flexible monetary policy to stabilise the exchange rate and lower lending rates, supporting business recovery and expansion.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung said: "Alongside cost-cutting efforts, the State Bank of Vietnam must adopt more flexible policy tools and measures to stabilise and lower lending rates for production and business activities, priority sectors, import-export enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses".
The Prime Minister urged ministries and local authorities to implement their tasks decisively, respond proactively to external developments and achieve the highest possible socio-economic targets for 2026, laying the groundwork for growth in the following year.
